Rupert Kirkham![]() RUPERT KIRKHAM
Rupert is a community media producer with 40 years experience in production, training and management for community groups. He is a director of Frome.fm community radio, an on-air contributor to Somer Valley fm community radio and a trustee of Viewpoint Community Media Trust in Swindon, Wiltshire. He has also produced, directed and/or written over 800 corporate and special interest films, videos and interactive media for companies in the UK, Europe and USA. (including his current production organisation, fromedia.co.uk) Rupert believes passionately in political and economic accountability at the local level and in democratically-organised community communications. Specifically, this refers to open access to the means of production by non-media professionals in whichever medium they choose to communicate. Vital to this process is training which forms an essential part of successful communication across communities. The Indie-town.uk project has at its core a managed training programme, which will benefit the project by increasing both the project resource base and the personal skill base of those who get involved. |
